If you don't want to get vaccines or get your child vaccinated, you might think you have no choice. But you legally have the right to refuse vaccinations based on your religious beliefs with only a simple letter declaring their your bona fide religious beliefs do support the use of vaccines. You also have the right to refuse any medical treatment for yourself or your children. So I am sure there is another way out of vaccines if they do not agree with you. Its YOUR body and/or YOUR child, no one should tell you what you have to put in your own body or that of your children!
In NC only a "bona-fide" religious belief will allow you exemption, not a personal belief. I am not 100% clear how someone distinguishes personal belief from religious belief for example I have a religion that I follow in my daily life, but it is not one of the 3 mainstream religions or something that was made up by someone else. I incorporate many religions into what I would call my own religion so I could see how some one trying to force me to go against my beliefs could use that fact to try and disqualify my religious beliefs from their definition of bona-fide BUT, in the exemption letter you do not actually need to write down what your religion is, or belong to a church etc. But I would guess that if you say in your religion you are not allowed to consume unnatural products but the judge (if for some reason it gets to that level--it shouldnt) sees you smoke a cigarette outside of the court house, its not gonna float.
I am also curious about if Veganism qualifies and vegans do not condone the use/consumption of animal products and vaccines are made of all types of animal junk. Also many use cells and parts of aborted fetuses in the mix, if you are Christian or any other anti-abortion religion you also should qualify. I don't support abortion which is why I waddled around campus pregnant for two semesters. No one is going to make me knowingly consume parts of someone else's aborted fetus against my will! I don't knowingly put chemicals in my body which is why I have dreads, (no more perms), and why I use all natural products, and (would be) all organic foods if I could afford them (my own organic garden is on my to do list). So no we didn't just make up something as an excuse. If you are doing that I still believe you have the right to refuse, by whatever means. If the government thinks they have the right to tell us we must but certain things in our body and in your children's bodies, do we even have any rights left? Micorchips are not far off if you accept this whether you want to get vaccinated or not its the principle of the thing. Clues to the culmination of Biblical prophecy perhaps the only part of the Bible dear ol' James left untainted since it was mumbo jumbo at the time LOL...another topic.
Anyway no matter what your religion is you need to outline the specific belief that you practice that is contrary to vaccinations. My letter goes a little more deeper than I legally necessary but I want anyone who might try to question use to know that we are serious.
Here is a snippet of my own personal exemption letter as used by my family BTW my family and daughter have very good health, rarely sick, she has only had one 3 day head cold in her 19 months of life, so far. Also no ear infections, diaper rash, etc (we also cloth diaper for the same religious and personal reasons):
Our religious beliefs concerning the matter of immunizations, vaccinations and inoculations are as follows:
"We believe in the existence of God, The Highest Power, and that The Highest power has perfectly designed the universe including our physical form. Thus our bodies are sacred, and by subscribing to moral dietary and lifestyle guidelines the physical form designed by the Highest Power will continue to function as designed without the need for vaccines, among other things, unless tampered with by independent forces (i.e. murder, accident, etc). To vaccinate, for us, would be a demonstration of lack of faith in our holy design as well as the processes of life. For us, it would be putting faith in humanity rather than faith in God, The Highest Power, which we feel is a great moral violation. In conjunction to this, most, if not all vaccines violate our religious beliefs because of the process/ingredients of their manufacture. In accordance with our beliefs we conduct a lifestyle in which we make conscious effort to avoid the consumption of products that would violate the sanctity of our human form, and any thing that to our knowledge is a direct product of manipulation of God, The Highest Power’s design for living beings; and/or unnecessarily (read: is other than basic physical needs) sacrifices the life of other living beings. Vaccines violate both of these moral guidelines by which we make consistent effort to live by."
